A print of the classic dirty martini. The Dirty Martini features gin or vodka, dry vermouth, and olive brine. It's is one of the most popular savory cocktails ever created, and though it may feel like a modern creation, the drink has been a go-to Martini variation for over a hundred years.
Believed to have originated in 1901, the Dirty Martini is often credited to New York bartender John O’Connor, who found inspiration in the classic Martini's olive garnish. First made by muddling the olive into the drink, and later by adding a splash of olive brine, the Dirty Martini took decades to reach a wide fan base. It eventually found favor among drinkers, including President Franklin D. Roosevelt, who often mixed them for guests in the White House.
As the Dirty Martini has grown in popularity, bartenders have increasingly begun to tailor the drink, improving the it with better technique and higher quality ingredients. That includes fresh vermouth and artisan olive juice.
Ingredients
2 ½ ounces gin or vodka
½ ounce dry vermouth
½ ounce olive brine
Garnish: 3 olives
Directions
Add the gin or vodka, vermouth and olive brine to a shaker filled with ice.
Shake for 15–20 seconds until well chilled.
Double strain through fine mesh strainer into a chilled cocktail glass.
Garnish with a skewer of olives.

A print of the original watercolor painting featuring the delicious espresso martini. Despite the word "martini," it contains no vermouth or gin. It is essentially a sophisticated, boozy iced coffee. The drink was originally created in 1983 by London bartender Dick Bradsell to give a customer a quick energy boost combined with a strong alcoholic kick. It is a popular after-dinner drink, acting as a combination of dessert, coffee, and digestif.
4oz of vanilla vodka (regular vodka if you don't have vanilla)
2oz of Kahlua Coffee Liqueur
2oz of creme de cacao
2oz (2 shots) espresso
3 espresso beans for garnish.
Pour and Shake: Put all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake, shake, shake for at least 20 seconds.
Strain in a chilled martini glass.
Garnish: If you shook it enough, there will be enough froth on top to hold 3 coffee beans as a garnish.

A print of the original watercolor painting featuring the famous Cosmopolitan. While variations of a "Cosmopolitan" existed as far back as the early 1900s, the modern iteration was perfected in the late 1980s. It is largely credited to New York bartender Toby Cecchini, who reconstructed a San Francisco vodka-and-cranberry recipe by using high-quality citrus vodka, fresh lime, and Cointreau. The drink became an overnight cultural phenomenon in the 1990s and 2000s after being cemented as the signature drink of the characters on the hit HBO show Sex and the City.
The Classic Cosmo Recipe
A perfectly balanced Cosmopolitan relies on fresh, high-quality ingredients so the cranberry doesn't overpower the drink.
1.5 oz Citrus Vodka (like Absolut Citron or Grey Goose L'Orange)
1 oz Cointreau or Triple Sec
1 oz Cranberry Juice (sweetened cocktail juice, not tart 100% juice)
0.5 oz Fresh Lime Juice
Garnish: Lime wedge or wheel, or a lemon twist
How to make it:
Chill: Place your martini or coupe glass in the freezer for a few minutes to frost it.
Shake: Add all the liquid ingredients to a cocktail shaker, fill it with ice, and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds.
Strain: Strain the drink into your chilled glass.
Garnish: Express a lemon or lime peel over the top, or drop a lime wheel onto the surface.
